DAD BODS Brett Sez: First Date with Desi the Dietician from Tree of Life Nutrition. Most of my food suspicions were confirmed, as well as adding a few new ones, with my weigh-in & measurements. But as DesiSez: “It’s not about the weight, it’s about the waist!”.
Desi had some great menu-plan suggestions to help me make a few minor sustainable ‘tweaks’ to both what and how I eat, that are achievable and would result in a healthier waist-line, such as lowering my caffeine + sugar intake and use of some healthier lower-fat products. Quick win-wins aplenty here.
The biggest challenge I personally face apart from the quality over quantity of my food intake, is to ensure have regular meals/snacks, as I typically have a quick breakfast, and skip lunch – I admit to being a little too focused on work at times.
In spite of this I took some solace in the fact that she referred to my body type as ‘muscularly’, lol. I was a little put-off by the ‘fatty gloop’ Desi showed us, but that’s just the motivation we need to ‘shed some of our kegs’.
So there is hope for us Dad Bods yet, and the good news is that I don’t have to ditch the entire contents of my pantry! Phew.
